Ann C. Van Meter, 89 years old, passed from this life on December 9, 2020. She was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on October 19, 1931 to Anne and Jess Cowan. She worked at the Conservation office until she married on September 12, 1953. She was a wife and a mother who traveled with her military husband, Floyd M. Van Meter (retired E-8, Master Sgt., United States Army). They were stationed throughout the United States, and two tours to Germany. After their last tour in Germany and 26 years of military service, they retired to their hometown, Checotah, Oklahoma.
She was an avid reader of many books and enjoyed studying the King James Bible with her church family reading to her when she could no longer see to read. The last reading she heard was God’s beautiful words of Psalms 23.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Van Meter; one grandchild, Allen D. Reynolds, her parents, and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa A Van Meter; son, Roger F. Van Meter (Lisa); grandchildren, Lisa A. Hartman, Kaylee A. Van Meter, and Kloee N. Van Meter, and four great-grandchildren.
