Obituary

Jerry Don Fowler, 77, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2020. He passed in Muskogee at St. Francis Hospital due to complications from a fall.  He was born January 21, 1943 to parents Marion (Mac) and Maudie Fowler in Haskell, Oklahoma at his grandmother’s house.

They later moved to Ponca City, OK. where he grew up and worked on a ranch with his dad. In 1961 he was a Checotah High School graduate. He and his family moved to Council Hill, OK later that same year, where he lived out the rest of his days.  Jerry was an owner/operator truck driver for over 30 years.  

Jerry met the love of his life, Betty McBride, in 1984 and they were married November 8, 1986.  They were happily married for 34 years. He loved fishing, gardening, time on his tractor and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He loved ALL of his family very much. He was kind to everyone and never met a stranger. He loved talking fish stories!!!

Jerry had a ready-made family when he and Betty married. He gained a son Jacky Bailey and his wife Kimberly of North Pole, Alaska and a daughter Sharron Bailey of Garland, Texas. He has 6 grandchildren Christopher Pinkston and wife Lauren of Anna, Texas, Kassandra Ryan and husband Michael of North Pole, Alaska, Lucas Bailey of Anna, Texas, Madison Arnold of Dallas, Texas, Hannah Goodwin and Victoria Goodwin of Garland, Texas. He also has 7 great-grandchildren Taylor, Jacob and Colton Pinkston of Anna, Texas and Logan, Levi, Ella and Luke Ryan of North Pole, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wesley and Rosa (Mashburn) Fowler, John T and Nancy (Campbell) Foster, his baby brother Terry (Jacky) Fowler, his parents Mac and Maudie Fowler and several aunts and uncles.

Jerry is survived by wife Betty Fowler of the home, son Jacky Bailey and wife Kimberly of North Pole, Alaska, daughter Sharron Arnold of Garland, Texas, brother James R Fowler and wife Jeanie Fowler of Checotah, Ok, sister Glenda Wood and husband John of Claremore, OK, nieces and nephews James Fowler, Sheila Goad, Debbie Christian, Terry Wood and Crystal Campbell and 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah, Oklahoma. Date to be announced.
