Kari Dawn Highfill

February 10, 1970 ~ September 20, 2019 (age 49)

Kari Dawn (Shinpoch) Highfill, 49, went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2019.

She was born to Ronald and Glenda Shinpoch on February 10, 1970 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. There Kari met her future husband, Ray. Their mothers shared the same hospital room and Kari and Ray were born only a day apart. Kari obeyed the Lord in baptism as a teenager and was a member of the Church of Christ. After graduating from Council Hill in 1988 she pursued a career in x-ray and radiology. Soon after, she married Ray on March 23, 1991 and resided near Council Hill for the rest of her life. After the birth of their daughter Jessica in July of 1994, Kari worked for many years at the post office and enjoyed being around all those that she had grown up knowing. She enjoyed camping at Roaring River State Park near Cassville, Missouri and being involved with the Council Hill Community Center. After suffering a stroke in January of 2018 her activities were limited, but she was always working hard to teach the grandbabies to call her Mimi.

Kari is survived by her husband, Ray; her grandmother, Loreene Lackey; her mother, Glenda Shinpoch; her uncle, Gary Swadley of Council Hill, OK; one brother, Brian Shinpoch and wife Trasa of Cushing, OK; one daughter, Jessica Butcher and her husband Patrick of Council Hill, OK; and two grandchildren, Jaret and Emma.

Kari was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Shinpoch of Council Hill, OK.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
